Hostel Territory

So we've set off to Barcelona to live the dream and open our very own hostel. We're keeping this journal online to keep everyone updated of our progress, adventures and mishaps navigating Barcelona's booming tourism industry, Spanish bureaucracy, and daily life in Catalunya.

Things will pick up at the hostel again in two weeks so Lauren and I think it's prime time to paint. It's amazing how banged up some walls can get in under a year. I can think of a few guests in particular who've been unusually abusive to our poor walls. In the coming days, we'll be spackling and adding a fresh coat so that Somnio will be as good as new just in time for the spring/summer rush.

In preparation, we went to the paint store today to re-find our colors. Our contractor was less than organized so it might take some trial and error to make sure we've got the proper palette. We couldn't believe how cheap paint was! Senor Contractor never should have taken us directly to the supplier. (We also know where he gets his tiles and plaster!) I think we might skip the middleman on Somnio Dos.
