Hostel Territory

So we've set off to Barcelona to live the dream and open our very own hostel. We're keeping this journal online to keep everyone updated of our progress, adventures and mishaps navigating Barcelona's booming tourism industry, Spanish bureaucracy, and daily life in Catalunya.

Lee and I sat down today and made a To Do list of about a hundred things to improve the hostel. Kind of like a really long list of belated New Years resolutions. Lee and I talk a lot about the difference between being small business owners and being entrepreneurs. In order to avoid becoming the former, we've resolved to take the bull by the horns in 2009 and keep pushing ourselves.

sheila and i, my other boss, have friends whose daughter lives in barcelona -we know her well also- and she knows who you are or of you

small world it is superfluous to write

her name is wendy erikson, a chicagoland native and internat'l businessperson, and she has contacted you, so we're told, attempting to see if her au pere (three kids at home) can do some volunteering for you; the au pere is from geneva, IL

your mom thinks you are quite adventuresome, and so do we

hope to meet you some day in barcelona on our way to cadaques

    Hi Jeremiah,

Thanks for reading our blog! Lauren and I do indeed know Wendy through a couple of different channels. It is quite a small world indeed. We'll be sure to bring up the connection next time we see her, or when we meet Becci, her au pair.

If you're ever in Barcelona, be sure to get in touch. In the meantime, perhaps we'll meet you some time when we're back in Chicago.

    Hasta pronto,
    Lee
