Feliz Ano Nuevo!

Our new years resolution is quite simple: open a hostel. It kind of makes losing 10 lbs seem easy, doesn't it? After our real estate let-down late last year, Lauren and I were reluctant to dive back into the hostel hunt. We spent another day combing the streets for offices for rent (this time afoot because as of December 29th, our car is uninsured.) We called about 20 different places and to our surprise, people were actually responsive! Granted, the search has literally yielded three site visits but compared to last year, this is another world.

Lauren has a theory that the real estate agents are on an annual quota system and thus only the losers (ahem, Nuria!) were still working at the end of the year. So far, we've been impressed. Last week, we saw a gorgeous site that would truly be the hostel of our dreams. More than anything, we'd be estatic to offer our friends a place to stay here just because the building is so cool.
